Acceleration Calculator

Acceleration from initial and final velocity over time.

Formula: a = (v − u) / t

Worth Knowing

Acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes, and crucially it happens whenever speed OR direction changes — a car rounding a bend at constant speed is still accelerating, because its direction is turning. This is why you feel pushed sideways in a fast corner. A negative value simply means slowing down (deceleration). Acceleration is what you physically feel, not speed itself: cruising at highway speed feels like nothing, but the change getting there presses you into the seat.

How to Use

  1. Enter Initial velocity into the first field of the Acceleration Calculator.
  2. Fill in the rest: Final velocity, Time.
  3. Your result appears instantly as you type — there's no submit button or page reload.
