Newton's second law is deceptively simple but easy to misapply if you're not careful with units: mass must be in kilograms and acceleration in meters per second squared for the result to come out in newtons directly, so a common source of wrong answers is plugging in weight (a force, in pounds or kilograms-force) where the formula expects mass. It's also worth remembering this gives net force — if multiple forces act on an object (gravity, friction, an applied push), this calculator's result represents the combined effect of all of them, not any single force in isolation.
