This turns a count of correct answers into both a percentage and a letter grade using standard cutoffs, the calculation teachers repeat for every quiz. The letter thresholds themselves aren't universal — some schools set an A at 90%, others at 93%, and plus/minus systems add further bands — so the boundaries here are a common convention rather than a fixed rule. It's most useful for quickly seeing how many more correct answers would bump you into the next band.
