The Caesar cipher shifts each letter a fixed number of places down the alphabet, and it's more of a historical curiosity than real security — with only 25 possible shifts, it's broken by trying them all in seconds. ROT13, a shift of 13, has a charming property: because 13 is half of 26, applying it twice returns the original text, so the same operation both encodes and decodes. It's still used online to lightly hide spoilers or punchlines, not to protect anything.
